Big news Beauty! I’m so excited to give you a small glimpse into my newest digital course, which includes several hours of video lectures, new research, DIY recipes for sleep & so much more all based about the much needed topic….SLEEP!!

My Nighttime Dream Elixir Recipe is the perfect teaser recipe of what is to come if you take my course!

You know I love my rituals, my sleep, and my elixirs, and what better way to get our bodies ready for a good night’s rest, than to include this new mix as part of our sacred nighttime rituals.

No time to waste…let’s find out why we should be including this elixir into our beauty and wellness lifestyle!

Nighttime Beauty Sleep Elixir

In times past, there have been those seeking what is called an “elixir of life”. It was supposed to be an alchemic preparation believed to prolong life. Certainly, we would all love to lengthen the days of life on earth. What about what’s happening right now, in the present?

There are simple yet powerful daily rituals we can start incorporating into our daily lives to help achieve longevity.

More often than not, our daily routines dictate how restful our sleep will be. Stress and our overactive minds may keep us up all night, tossing and turning, and not getting the best quality sleep.

And we know how crappy we all feel when we haven’t slept enough. It’s hard to focus, play with our kids to the fullest force, write/do our job our best, and of course we can be less humorous and more moody! And when we look in the mirror, those under eye circles and unfortunate puffy eyes are something no makeup can fully get rid of. ????

Adding a nighttime elixir ritual is a wonderful way to soothe the body and mind and allow us to adjust from this busy and hectic life of ours, and help us to slow down in preparation for a good night’s rest!

Cleansing your digestive and eliminatory organs of waste and toxins is just another way to aid your body towards better sleep. Learn more about my Feel Good Detoxy +!

What I have found is that elixirs really do help induce better sleep and as a result, we feel more refreshed upon waking. They even help beat inflammation, pain, and fatigue (which only negatively contributes to poor rest), giving a profound sense of well-being.

We must be conscious of the root causes of our sleep problems and work to correct them.

This recipe is a powerful creation that combines a few beauty ingredients that were chosen for their specific enriching qualities to help combat stress, balance your nervous system, and give you the beauty rest your body needs and deserves! ????

Beauty Sleep Blossom: Lavender

Flowers have been likened to the antennae of Mother Earth — their roots reaching deep down into the ground— naturally being a part of the Earth’s ecosystem for billions of years now.

There is no doubt flowers have been used for their healing benefits for thousands of years, in a variety of cultures. What about modern times? How did flower elixirs become so popular?

Does the name Dr. Bach sound familiar? Dr. Edward Bach was a British physician who wanted to get to the root cause of physical imbalances, rather than focusing on treating the symptoms. He became a homeopathic doctor and soon after, discovered yet another form of healing.

In the 1930s, while living in the English countryside with fields of flowers all around him, Dr. Bach began to work with the dewdrops on flowers and moved on to developing a solar-infusion method to increase production.

These blossoms not only capture but emit large quantities of light from the sun. And so, Bach collected the flowers’ mother essence by soaking the flowers in water in the sunlight and then further diluted this to treat himself and his patients.

It has been noted that during Bach’s lifetime, he collected a total of 38 remedies, classified their healing properties, and documented the effects on his patients. It is through Dr. Bach’s work that led to the resurgence of the use of flower elixirs in the Western world. Pretty brilliant, right?!

Because the essence from these flowers dissolve tension and stress, it makes sense for flower elixirs to contribute in slowing down our minds, and making it easier to wind down and to sleep more soundly.

Among these amazing flower essences is lavender. And today we’ll be using an organic lavender tea, which is derived from the lavender buds of the flowering plant — you know, the same beautiful flowers you see in drawer sachets at country markets. Many tea brands contain toxins from pesticides, so choosing organic is better for your health.

With more than 45 different species of lavender, many are used in traditional medicine applications and fragrance products, and have been for centuries, so why stop now!

Take a look at some of the benefits lavender tea can bring to your overall health:

  • Provides an impressive concentration of calcium, iron, and vitamin A
  • Aids in a good night’s rest
  • Relaxes the body
  • Reduces muscle spasms
  • Promotes healthy digestion
  • Eliminates inflammation
  • Balance mood
  • Restores your skin’s beauty
  • Soothes pain
  • Neutralizes free radicals in the body

With a flower essence that has this much natural power, there is no doubt our bodies will relax, rest easy and adjust, providing the perfect environment for a good night’s rest.

Hi Kimberly! Thanks for the recipe. Sounds like an interesting combo. I’ll have to look for some lavender tea. Can we reuse the cinnamon stick, if so approximately how many times? My first thought is that it seems like a lot of cinnamon to throw away ????Did you not like it with ground cinnamon?

      @Vickie
I’ve made this elixir many times and have reused the cinnamon stick at least 2 times – any more than that and it does not taste nearly the same.

Hi Beauty! Yes, you can certainly make this with coconut milk instead. The ingredients should be safe for toddlers, but I always recommend checking first with your pediatrician if you have any concerns!

Hi Anastasia – Thanks for your great question. Yes, of course, you can use regular cinnamon, however, it may not dissolve and you will have to mix it often unless you don’t mind sipping in larger amounts in each sip. The sticks tend to work better with not clumping as much. Let us know how you do and sending you lots of love! Xo

You can choose whichever milk you’d like in this elixir, however, I steer clear of dairy products myself. Let us know how you do and if your pre-teen enjoys the flavors. Lots of love to you both! Xo

Lavender is probably the key ingredient here, but I wonder if there might be an alternative? Thank you so much, beauty.
